The best book out there for alterations!

I looked for a book to help with alterations for over a year. This is by far the best book out there. I am so happy Judith took the time to write all of this treasure of information down.
This book is great for beginners and intermediates. I have been sewing for 20+ years and it has been a pleasure reading this book. I am truly excited by this book. She is brilliant in her approach to fixing ready to wear.

This book was out of stock for what seemed like forever. I am so happy it's finally in my library. I'm a home sewer and often find that thrifted or store bought clothing doesn't fit quite right. This book is exactly what I was looking for to start altering my clothes. There aren't a lot of them out there and this book is really great.

To be savored, over and over

I recently finished this, after periodically devouring chapters of it over the past few years. Each time I pick up this book, for 5 minutes or 5 hours, I luxuriate over every paragraph. Witty, smart, descriptive, opinionated, romantic, sarcastic, beautiful, sad, informative... there's something for every mood, and although certain scenes are no longer so familiar to most of us (such as the setting of lengthy ocean voyages as in "Sea Changes"), I always feel I can, and do, relate to her experience, and thoroughly enjoy her stories. Worth re-reading always. I can't recommend this highly enough for anyone who loves to eat and loves to read.

I would recommend if in school to ask professor if their alright ...

Very well written book. The one thing I regret was buying the hardcover vs the paperback people in my class bought the paperback and the only issue or difference we found between the two was that the pages were 7 pages different. So if hardcover had something on page 30 it was on 37 I'm the paperback. I would recommend if in school to ask professor if their alright with you buying the paper back. It will save you a bit of money.

Grammatical Errors Galore

It surprises me that a marketing collegiate text book has so many grammatical errors. Especially when the introduction claims that "every page has been poured over to provide the most up to date research and business articles for educational purposes." Walmart is spelled Wahnart, etc. Through the whole book. While the book is clearly organized, sometimes the grammatical mistakes deter from the flow of reading, making the study process aggravating at times. And while this is a marketing book for a marketing course, it seems more like an excuse to market TO YOU.

Well written Marking book which includes many useful real world examples

This is the latest edition of the Principles of Marketing textbook and is used for an introductory undergraduate or graduate course. It's clearly written and includes lots of fresh, up-to-date, illustrative real-world examples to prove their theories and statements. Each chapter is filled with key terms used in the real world and the definitions can be found in the margins. The terms are also explained by the author's words as well as live examples. The end-of-chapter questions and case studies are also a very good reference and provide a way to test yourself on the content shared within the chapters. Also included in the chapters are many helpful charts, tables, and photos.

During my course I found this to be a very helpful book and believe that the content that is covered will help me while I continue to chase my professional goals and dreams.

About the Author
John R. Levine was a member of a computer club before high school students, or even high schools, had computers. He wrote his first program in 1967 on an IBM 1130 (a computer almost as fast as your modern digital wristwatch, only more difficult to use). He became an official system administrator of a networked computer at Yale in 1975 and has been working in the computer and network biz since 1977. He got his company on to Usenet (see Part IV) early enough that it appears in a 1982 Byte magazine article in a map of Usenet, which then was so small that the map fit on half a page.

He used to spend most of his time writing software, although now he mostly writes books (including UNIX� For Dummies�, 4th Edition, and Internet Secrets�, both from IDG Books Worldwide, Inc.) because it's more fun and he can do so at home in the hamlet of Trumansburg, New York, where he holds the exalted rank of sewer commissioner and offers free samples to visitors and plays with his baby daughter when he's supposed to be writing. He also does a fair amount of public speaking. () He holds a B.A. and a Ph.D. in computer science from Yale University, but please don't hold that against him.; Unlike her peers in that 40-something bracket, Margaret Levine Young was exposed to computers at an early age. In high school, she got into a computer club known as the R.E.S.I.S.T.O.R.S., a group of kids who spent Saturdays in a barn fooling around with three antiquated computers. She stayed in the field through college against her better judgment and despite her brother John's presence as a graduate student in the computer science department. Margy graduated from Yale and went on to become one of the first microcomputer managers in the early 1980s at Columbia Pictures, where she rode the elevator with big stars whose names she wouldn't dream of dropping here. Mercedes Pavlicevic is Associate Professor and Director of the Music Therapy Programme at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, and Visiting Researcher at the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Centre in London. She is the author of Music Therapy in Context - Music, Meaning and Relationship and Music Therapy - Intimate Notes, and co-author of Beginning Research in the Arts Therapies - A Practical Guide, all of which are published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers.
