Until, with a stroke of luck and a buck of a mechanical bull, he hires Janine Davis to star with him in the dealership's live TV ads.

A woman who won't let a handsome cowboy get in the way of her dream...

Determined to make a name for herself, Janine needs to pay the bills between acting jobs. The offer to do a series of commercials for Peschke Motors is a chance to get her face "out there". Recognizing a player when she sees one, Janine agrees to co-star with her handsome employer fully intending to keep their relationship strictly professional. First break she gets, she's heading to Hollywood.

Their jungle-themed commercials take a crazy twist, and Tanner finds himself falling...from a sales banner while chasing a monkey. But more importantly, he's falling for Janine. She's just the one woman to tame this cowboy's wild heart. Convincing her to stay with him might be harder than catching a mischievous monkey.

Tanner Peschke's father wants him to take over the family's car dealership. However, Tanner's dad is concerned that Tanner doesn't have what it takes to make a profit because Tanner has an annoying habit of buying into every sob story a chick will hand him. With a three month deadline to prove he can turn a profit, Tanner hires Janine, an actress he accidentally got fired, to help him do a series of live "Tarzan and Jane" themed commercials. With each commercial being a total farce, the city takes notice and the two become local celebrities. Janine wants to be taken seriously as an actress and Tanner wants Janine to take him seriously as a love interest. Will these two ever land on the same page?

This was cute! It's definitely trying to get the laughs and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but it's an entertaining read. This is definitely a humor driven contemporary romance, and it's not a *clean* one for those wondering. There are a few sex scenes but they aren't long and really graphically drawn out.

I would say the commercials are probably the best part of the book. As a romance, it's a little bit lacking in that department. Tanner and Janine are fun characters, but we're not going swimming in the deep end of the pool with this. But, this isn't a serious kind of book, it's comedy first and foremost. If you're looking for something lighthearted, cute, simple, and fun to read with a small splash of romance, this should work for you.

Comedic genius - Very funny story and great start to new series

What do you get when you mix a used car sales man and a wanna be actress together - plenty of laugh out loud moments.

Tanner Peschke along with his friends are all billionaire's but chose to keep it to themselves and continue to work normal jobs. On his mother's death bed Tanner promised her that he would stand by his father and that meant running his father's use car dealership even though he hated it. On a trip to buy used cars Tanner runs into Janine literally while she is riding a mechanical bull where she is doing a part time gig which causes her to lose her job. Feeling both sorry for her and realizing he could use her to his advantage he offers her a job in his upcoming commercials for the dealership. What he didnt count on was falling for her.

Janine has had one goal in her life and that is to be an actress. She hasn't had much luck so far so after Tanner gets her fired she figures why not take him up on his offer of doing commercials.

What poor Janine didn't count on was a monkey that gets more than fresh, a boa that takes her breath away or a camel that just runs away with her. But the biggest thing she didn't count on was falling for the handsome used car dealer. Falling in love is not in her plans. As soon as her agent has a deal for her in LA she is gone.

Will these two be able to make it work??????

The secondary characters of Tanner's father and his friend were almost as funny as the disasters of the commercials.

The writers did a fantastic job at making you feel like you were there during all the disasters of the commercials. Your laughing till almost crying. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series from these two.

Once you start reading you won't put it down until the end. A great romantic comedy.

Delilah Devlin, and Elle James both write amazing stories. When I heard they teamed up for one I jumped in line to be the first to read it, and I was not disappointed. Tarzan and Janine, is a fun romantic comedy about a used car salesman and a want-to-be actress. It takes you through their hilarious journey to find the love they didn't realize they were looking for. Their path will take you through high flying antics, with a monkey, a snake and even a camel. This book will have you laughing out loud and leave you wanting more. A must read for all.

This book was written to help shed light on many things that have been performed in secret, under the cover of darkness, which has been behind the developing new universal Christianity. The work is presented believing that if one can see the unfolding of historically documented events in the light of the Word of God, he will, perhaps, be able to discern truth from error.

The purpose of this book, therefore, is not to dispute about the shades of meanings of words, to argue about Bible versions or manuscripts, or to debate about various spiritual or theological movements. Neither is this book intended to criticize those who have differing theological views or social perspectives. Instead, it is the goal of this book to humbly present the factual evidence to help the reader to get to know some of the people and the underlying agenda that led up to the modern process of redefining Christianity. The focus of this book is toward understanding more about the "who and why" of those that have been working for centuries to lay the foundations of a new universal Christianity.

From the Author
While learning that God reveals Himself to us through nature, it took me many years to discover that the truth I had been searching for in nature is but a shadow of the real truth, that being the spiritual things of God. Having given me the gift of reason, it was God, through His Holy Spirit, who brought me to search for truth. I soon found that truth did not lie in my reason, which was the filter through which I interpreted the things that I observed in nature. Instead, I found that the truth I was searching for could only be found in God who, through His Word, created all of nature, including my reason.

In my search, it soon became evident to me that God is Truth. Through the work of my reason and my faith, I accepted that there is one true God. I eventually came to my present understanding that the Word of God is the revelation of God to man. It then became clear to me that the one true God revealed Himself through His Word by His will through the inspiration of His prophets and apostles as recorded in the Scriptures, which were supernaturally preserved. The Word of God was also revealed by the manifestation of God Himself, known as Jesus.

Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness but rather expose them!

Wow! Incredible book!!!! While I have done much research into topics like the "emergent church," "social gospel," "contemplative prayer," and other false teachings that are creeping into the church and in some cases taking individual churches captive, I've never read another book that so clearly lays out (nearly every area of deception) what is happening not only in the church, but what we see happening in our world. Extremely well documented, and though there is a lot of history, don't let that scare you off. Not being a church history person I found this book to read more like a thriller or spy novel, often times on the edge of my seat waiting to see what is going to be exposed next. In fact, once I started it, I could hardly put it down and finished reading in one week. Every Christian should read this book, it's all as the title suggests Biblically and Historically accurate. Christians should know, if you read this book as the author suggests having prayed beforehand for wisdom and a desire to know truth (allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you into truth) your eyes will be opened to the seducing spirits, and doctrines of demons that the Bible warns us about. Especially as the day draws closer to our Lord's return and we see more and more darkness setting in, the flock of God needs to be aware of what is and has been taking place, often times right under our noses. God will use this book to show you Satan's plan to lead the church into a one world religious system. You will also learn the subtle tactics that the enemy uses to introduce false teaching and heresies into the church. In fact, having done much research I was aware of many of the things described in this book and yet I was shocked to learn just how complex, interwoven the enemy's devices are, and how much they have infiltrated our churches and society. Buy copies for yourself and friends, then buy copies for your neighbors, co-workers, church leaders etc. As a followup, I recommend a DVD series entitled, "Wide is the Gate" by Caryl Matrisciana and Brannon Howse's books or DVD's "Grave Influence," and "Religious Trojan Horse." It would appear that the "great falling away" as described in 2 Thessalonians 2 is well underway, believers must be vigilant in seeking truth, and praying for discernment, much of what seems right to man is nothing more than Satan's poison to lead us away from the simplicity that is in Christ. "While Men Slept" by Kerby Fannin will show you how "wolves" in "sheep's clothing" have crept into the church, the methods that are being used to deceive the flock so that you can protect yourself and your friends and family from the great deception taking place. Remember, this is not conspiracy theory, what is happening is exactly what the Bible said would happen. Though I'm glad it's not more expensive, this book would still be well worth the price even if it was double or triple the current price. The research that went into this book must have been tremendous, and it covers just about everything I see happening in our current day. My recommendation is that even if there's a topic of great interest to you, don't read ahead or use this book as a reference tool, at least not until you've read it from cover to cover first. Each page builds on what was previously said. This book certainly does as the Bible commands, to "expose the unfruitful works of darkness." If you have stumbled upon this book, trust that the Lord led you to it, and know that Satan doesn't want you to read it. Get your copy today, there's too much at stake. May God grant you wisdom, revelation, open eyes, and that you will come to a knowledge of the truth. We can't afford to be blind . . . many still have yet to come to know Christ and the enemy is working very hard to lead many astray and to deceive if possible, even the elect. Great Summary of Major Influences on 20th Century Church

This book is a great compilation of the events, ambitions, deceptions, planning, and people who influenced the doctrines and errors of the 20th century church. Fannin has provided documentation for his claims and exposes how the 19th century church cast Jesus Christ aside and enthroned Reason as sovereign. He exposes Westcott & Hort, not as the unaware translators who made inadvertent errors, but as somewhat minor accomplices in a plan to rewrite God's Word to suit their beliefs. This book provides documentation of the deception that I and my church history teachers have been unaware of and when informed of disregarded to avoid being divisive. The deception was more intentional than I ever imagined. I could not put the book down and read all 600 pages in 5 days. This is a must read for those interested in church history. It was a great follow up to Heresies by Harold O.J. Brown.

Excellent Fact Filled Book !

The other reviewers have stated almost exactly my thoughts on this book. I will add that just the research Dr. Fannin has done for this book is tremendous. This book is filled with history but it reads like a mystery novel. What the Catholic church did in the "Gunpowder Plot" was unbelievable! It's obvious why we are not taught these things in the schools or colleges. Then much later, the men that were responsible for the origens of the modern versions of the Bible were wicked men, no doubt.

Authors like Gail Riplinger, Dr. Fannin, David Cloud, and many, many others will be rewarded by the Lord for their efforts.

Great Book!

I was so excited to get this book in the mail! The best part of this book is the spiral bound feature! I own another book by the same author/artist so I was comfortable ordering this book because I knew what to expect. I was not disappointed! I use this book as a teaching tool and it's easy for students to understand, even the ones who have never had a drawing class. It's a book worth getting. A bit on the pricey side but what fashion design book isn't especially these college books. It's a great reference and a must if you have a fashion and sewing book collection.

I love this book. I have been reading and watching every video everyday. It's very visual.
I really enjoy that is a bounded book because is easy to manipulate.
About the videos, I'm not sure that I like the way that this edition presented them because you have to create and account to watch them and they are only online access, I think for one year.

Even though I reccomend it! It's a must if you want to learn how to draw fashion figures (I didn't study fashion and I am learning on my own). Believe me, I am a fashion geek who lives in New York and this is one of my favorites

Outstanding Textbook

Bina Abling is an exceptional instructor. My dream growing up was to become a fashion designer and when that didn't happen, I yearned for that experience for many years. Now that I'm retired and have some free time, I thought maybe I can learn something about fashion design. Doing much research on Amazon, I found this book to be the epitome of all that and more. Bina is a gifted, knowledgeable, forthright teacher. She encourages your creativity and helps you through the absolute rules of fashion design. The information regarding the tools and the illustrations are phenomenal. I cannot say enough about this book; it's luxurious and rich with everything you need to know about fashion design. The illustrations and the sketches of children and men which are usually very difficult are very helpful. Bina also includes a DVD inside the front cover - this is very helpful also as you watch her illustrate. Bina also encourages the student. I would recommend this book for any Fashion Design student or anyone who wants to learn to illustrate the runway model or perhaps learn more about the fashion design world.

In the history of American sports, no coach has been mythologized as much as the Green Bay Packers' Vince Lombardi (who has been immortalized with, among other tributes, a rest station on the New Jersey Turnpike). Yet this fine biography from a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter for the Washington Post is a blast of cool air among the usually overheated roster of sports biographies. From Lombardi's formative years as a player and coach at Fordham University through assistantships with West Point and the Giants and, finally, to his tenure as head coach of the Packers, Maraniss presents a portrait of a complicated human being who was a great teacher but a mediocre listener, an effective psychologist despite being rife with flaws. Though he often got hurt as a college athlete, Lombardi, as a coach, scorned players who couldn't withstand injury. His relationship with his wife and children was less than ideal. But Maraniss doesn't succumb to any reductive assessments of Lombardi as "tragic" or "heroic." As legend suggests, Lombardi was indeed a great motivator, but his success also derived from a cerebral approach to the game. The book's true punch comes from its myriad subplots: a hero from one small town (early 20th-century Brooklyn) revitalizing another in the Upper Midwest, or professional football and Lombardi coming into their own at roughly the same time. Maraniss spends far too much time on people and events whose influence on Lombardi isn't made apparent, and he relies too much on other sportswriters' descriptions of games. A big book about a big man...

... and some would say both were too big. Assuming you buy into the presumption that a biography on an NFL football coach (even if that coach is Lombardi himself) is worthy of 500 pages, than you will, no doubt, enjoy this particular tome. Maraniss is a terrific writer and researcher and it comes through clearly. However, during certain passages, I felt he was either striving to make it to the magical 500-page hurdle, or simply would have benefited from better editing. He excels at humanizing this mythical character and, in fact, tackles (sorry) head on the myth surrounding Lombardi that has been created during the 30 years since his death. Lombardi was no saint, and Maraniss is not afraid to point that out, unlike certain biographers (such as A. Scott Berg's treatment of Lindbergh) who end up "liking" their subjects so much that they end up apologizing for certain actions. Maraniss is not afraid to point out Lombardi's flaws, and he had several of them, primarily in the treatment of his wife and children. Maraniss paints scenes beautifully, and in so doing brings his subject to life. There is a wonderful description of a dinner-table scene in which Lombardi's wife, Marie, and two children, Vincent and Susan, sit silently and expectantly waiting for Vince to say something. He finally clears his throat... Marie and children sit up with great expectation, waiting for the jewels of wisdom to pour forth from the coach... a greeting... a story from his busy day... anything that recognizes their presence. All that is said, however, is, "Pass the salt, Marie." Could there be a better way to convey the isolation each of the family members experienced? Lombardi was terrifically successful on the football field, and that is how his true worth will always be measured. Unfortunately, his family members may have been using a different measuring stick.

The definitive portrait of a legend

For many people, Vince Lombardi is forever tied to his saying "winning isn't everything - it's the only thing." He stands as a figurehead of the old school of coaching, before they spouted pop psychology and wrote success books. Dave Maraniss' masterful book goes beyond this legend to provide a sensitive and multi-dimensional portrait of a leadership figure who was, in many ways, far ahead of his time.
Lombardi was as focused on winning as anyone in sports, and he didn't suffer fools gladly. But he also valued diversity, respect, and managing people as individuals. He wouldn't tolerate racism or homophobia at a time when there was too much of both in the sports world. Above all, he mixed equal parts of emotion and intellect to elevate his profession to another level.
This richly documented biography was not designed as a popular business book, but there are lessons in it for anyone who leads a team of people today. It's a fascinating read about one of the great minds in sports history. -Rich Gallagher, author "Delivering Legendary Customer Service"

THE BEST OF THE BOOKS ON THE GREEN BAY PACKERS

Though I'm strictly a baseball fan, I did follow Lombardi's Packers in the 1960's. This is not only the best of the Packer books, including the classic "Instant Replay", it is one of the very best books I have ever read on any subject. I liked it so much I ordered four extra copies for friends who are Packer fans. David Maraniss does a thorough job of research on Lombardi and portrays him as a human being, warts and all, instead of the icon that some make him out to be. Parts that stood out for me was how hard he personally took the suspension of Paul Hornung, which reminded him of Red Blaik's experience with cheating players at West Point. The continued demand of excellence took it toll on Lombardi, and he really left the Packer coaching job an exhausted man. The often told Jim Ringo story of his trade to Philadelphia didn't happen the way many books have told it. Lombardi often stressed the importance of God, family, and the Green Bay Packers in that order, but reality showed the order to be God, the Green Bay Packers, and family last. His immediate family suffered and his own children felt he was more affectionate with children of his players than he was with them. One also gets the feeling that he wasn't really disappointed with the showing of the Phil Bengston Packers, feeling that the slipage of the Packers was due to his not being there. Anecdotes of others notables such as Otto Graham, Packer announcers Ray Scott and Tony Canadeo, George Wilson, in addition to the Packer players make this a simply outstanding book to add to your library. Although the 2015 hardcover version is an excellent resource, the 2015 Kindle version is missing many entries. If you compare the 2007 hardcover to the 2015 Kindle version you will find lots of missing entries. If you need all entries you may want to wait until this error is corrected or buy the hardcover version. If you have never used the previous hardcover version, you may not know the difference.

useful to know about but difficult to teach from

Learning Strategies in Second Language Acquisition looks at language as a complex cognitive skill which can be defined within the context of cognitive theory. There is a lot of research in cognitive theory as it relates to learning in general, but as O'Malley and Chamot point out, very little has been done specifically with SLA in mind. Consequently, although Learning Strategies in Second Language Acquisition is comprehensive in its overview of the techniques that learners adopt while studying a foreign language, the paucity of research as to the efficacy of using such strategies, and whether or not they can be taught, is still inconclusive. Clearly more research is needed before one can suggest pedagogical implications. What I liked about this book is that it develops a taxonomy of language learning strategies that any teacher will find very useful to be aware of. What I was not so sure of, however, was in being able to pass on this new knowledge to my students by referring to this text alone. If you are looking for ways in which to teach strategies either directly, or by embedding them in the materials that you use or create, then I much prefer Rebecca Oxford's Language Learning Strategies.

About the Author
Guy Cook is Professor of Applied Linguistics at the University of Reading. He has worked as an EFL teacher in Egypt, Italy, the UK, and Russia, as a lecturer at the University of Leeds, and as head of TESOL at the London University Institute of Education. He has been an invited speaker at universities and major conferences in many countries, and has published widely on discourse analysis, the theory and practice of language teaching, literature teaching, translation, and language play.

The sharpest tool in the shed

This book is a breath of fresh air in a thoroughly moribund field. In fact, it goes a long way in explaining why the field is moribund: the sharpest tool in the shed has been neglected for over one hundred years.

English Language Teaching needs translation tasks to deliver on its promises with regard to interaction as a way of pushing the interlanguage. However, the establishment needs to promote monolingual approaches or risk irrelevance and collapse. The result is a field dedicated to a sham. Cook suggests, rather convincingly, that the edifice could come crashing down. It's not clear whether this is true, but it's an interesting idea.

The need for the use of students' language in communicative language teaching explains why ELT fails in local contexts. It explains why the establishment fails to make any methodological recommendations for local contexts. It explains why ELT continues to be perceived as ethnocentric and colonialist.

It explains the lie at the heart of ELT: teachers don't need the skills (bilingual ability) that they are trying to develop in their students. Of course not!?!
