Interesting historical perspecting

This book was originally published in 1912. I'm not a medical professional, but I was astounded by how much detail was known about the internal workings of the body nearly 100 years ago without the technological advantages that we have today. I read the description of labor and delivery with great interest, since most births were accomplished at home in those times. You will chuckle at the prim and proper words that are chosen ("marital relations" rather than "sex") and the recommendations for how long a woman needs to recuperate. (The author recommends that for a hospital birth, the mother should not leave for at least 2 weeks, and that for a home birth, the mother should recuperate in bed for 4 weeks). I skipped over all the parts about nutrition and exercise - I probably missed a few gems there. Overall, though, I was impressed with how straightforward the author was with the facts, no matter how unpleasant they are. I consider this the century-old version of "The Girlfriends' Guide to Pregnancy".

A book full of information

Even though this book would be so called"dated" it is full of info you wouldn't usually get. It explains everything you would want to know about in great detail. I am expecting my third child and learned things from this book I never knew. What you know is dated ignore but remember if they could have babies with this info then we certainly can knowing also modern medicine!
