Star Boy

These books were purchased for the opening of a new kindergarten on the Pine Ridge (Sioux) Indian Reservation in So. Dakota. I was told by the children's teacher they are thrilled with the books, particularly as the heroes and heroines are children who look the same as they do, show knowledge of the same culture and share the same mythology. Providing these children with a positive self-image from day one of their school experience will reap future rewards through a love of reading.

Paul Goble is one of my favorite children's authors. This is a lovely book...nice story and beautifully illustrated. A perfect gift for a child.

5 stars for all of Goble's books

After reading "The Girl Who Loved Wild Horses," which is Paul Goble's only award winning book that I know of, we have started collecting his books. We've found that all of them have been as beautiful illustrations and wonderful stories. I love the spirituality in these stories- they all have a very moving message about Creation and respect for the animals. The stories come from mid-West Native Americans.
My 6 year olds love them and I've started giving them as gifts to some of my adult friends, as well. Illustrations are beautiful. They're simply beautiful.
