A college kid that spends way to much time gaming, has her entire life change with a simple knock on the door

Magic book have always had a draw for me and when I found this book I liked the blurb so decided to give it a try.

The plot is very different from other books in the genre that I've read which is always a plus.

Kat is the main character of this tale. She is basically a college kid who spends inordinate amount of time immersed in the gaming world, one game in particular who's players can spend days or weeks trying to complete the level challenges. While a multiplayer game one of the great appeals is the ability for players to complete individual challenges for higher rankings and other benefits.

It is here that Kat excels and ultimately plays a part in preparing her for what is to come.

When an unexpected visitor comes with news that Kat struggles to comprehend along with a gift that she refuses, she is unaware that her life as she knows it is over.

Less than 24 hours later she becomes all to aware of that fact and now she is partnered with the unexpected visitor trying desperately to understand why she is being hunted while at the same time trying to figure out how to get back to the life that she loved, boring as it was.

Enter a rich, eccentric, tech giant and things get even more surreal for Kat. All these players and information is hard to come by for Kat, which she is not the kind of girl that like to be kept in the dark.

This is a sage instead of character driven where each book is a new journey but instead it seems that each book will build on the events of the previous with the tale continuing over each successive book. I generally stay way from books like that but we'll see how fast things move and what the new book adds to the characters.

I bought the book because of the gamer aspect- the autthor seems to have an understanding of the gamer mentality and I did find it entertaining.
I'm pretty hard core on fantasy and the only thing that kinda annoyed me was the sensual / sexual stuff in the Novel - but hey if your a chick I get it. Wife says its porn for girls lol.
I will probably get the next one but hope the heroine wises up and stops being girly girl - gamers are not girly girl , even if their female - just saying. Harden her up a tad would ya!

Jake and Jesus is a great book for helping children to understand Jesus as God in the flesh. The reader will easily identify with Jesus as a knowable person who can help us in our living. Author Kelly Hagen does a great job of encouraging children to get to know Jesus as a real person. Children (mom and dad too) will be blessed, encouraged, and inspired by the reading of this book.

A Personal Relationship With Jesus

Jake & Jesus is a heartwarming story of a young boy's love for Jesus. Through reading this book, young children will learn about Jesus, and how they too can have a personal relationship with Him. This book is a wonderful tool for parents to use to help lead their child/children to Christ. It's also full of colorful illustrations.

Children friendly says it all!

Kelly Hagen's story Jake and Jesus is an inspirational and lovely way for young children to get to know Jesus. Young Jake explains in a heartfelt way how wonderful it is that Jesus is his best friend and how much that means to him. The illustrations in Jake and Jesus are precious and add to the uplifting tone of the story. An enjoyable book with a great message! This would make an excellent read-aloud too!
